Woman healed walking to baggage claim
I was returning from a trip to Oklahoma and ready to be home in my bed. Our mission team's flight landed after 10pm on a cold CA night and my brain was on everything but praying for people.
As we got off the plane and walked to the terminal, I noticed a woman ahead of me walking and leaning heavily on a cane. I was moved by compassion as I could see she was in a lot of pain. I asked her why she walked with the assistance of the cane, and she said it was severe pain in her low back, hip and down her left leg. In her words, the pain was down to a 5 out of 10 with the help of 'pills and whiskey'. It was some type of nerve pain/damage that she'd suffered with for many years.
As we walked, I asked her if I could pray for her as I'm a Christian and Jesus heals people. She had not of course expected that nor been prayed for before in a public setting like that; but as she was in so much pain and exhausted she was more open to something out of the norm.
I put my hand on her shoulder and prayed and nothing happened that we could tell.
She and her partner continued walking towards baggage claim. I became more emboldened and asked her if I could pray one more time, but this time with permission laid hands on her low back and leg.
The pain was still there, so I had her start to walk and test it, believing that as she moved forward by faith she would be healed.
There are those moments when God touches a person that I really don't need to ask how someone feels because the look on their face says it all.
Well, I saw that look come over her face and it was so precious. I asked what her pain level was at after a few steps, and she said it was almost gone. After a few more steps she stopped and just stared at her partner, and they both looked at each other with beautiful stunned expressions as the woman told us both that her pain was completely gone!
We hugged and I told her that Jesus gave her that gift of healing to introduce Himself to her and I encouraged them both to seek the truth of who He really is, to know the God who loves her and just healed her body.
After a 10 minute walk to baggage claim, I saw them again and she gave me a big smile and a thumbs up to say she was still pain free.
I know that God will bring the increase, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to have been able to represent Him to both women, despite my limitations.
One YES at His prompting and with His Spirit is truly powerful!
Miami Airport - Spring 2024
Mother and son healed and born again!
On a trip back home, I was blessed to have a wonderfully long layover and flight delay. It gave me lots of time to walk around and ask God what He wanted to do at the airport. I had highlighted to me a young man in a very bright multi-colored shirt with lots of face make-up and piercings. I immediately struck up a conversation. He was very nice and shared that he and his mother were on their way home to N.C. from a long cruise together. She was on the floor, so I hadn't noticed her at first. She couldn't sit or stand for long periods due to severe back pain. [Rods and other metal in her back]. I asked if I could pray for Jesus to heal her. Neither she nor her son were Christians - (which didn't matter in the slightest) - and she had no problem allowing me to lay hands on her back to pray. She instantly got about 50% better. I prayed two more times and had her stand up, touch her toes and walk briskly. NO PAIN. The look on her face and her son's said it all. She had been in pain of varying degrees for years. I asked her son if he wanted to know the Jesus who just healed his mother. He said YES and so did she! A wonderful friend and missions teammate was with me and by me during these wonderful moments. He got words of knowledge for the young man and ministered to him. It turns out the young man was dealing with serious stomach pain that had been troubling him all day. He said it felt like food poisoning. After my dear friend prayed for him the pain completely left him!
We had lots of time, so we were able to answer questions and really celebrate them and pour into the moment in a great time of discipleship.
